The HVU-8 is a relatively compact vertical antenna with the unique attribute of covering HF, VHF and UHF bands in a single unit. It is ideal for both temporary and permanent installations where space restrictions preclude the use of a larger antenna. Installation is relatively straightforward thanks to its reduced height and weight compared to other vertical antennas.

The antenna covers the 80/40/20/15/10/6/2M/70cm bands, and is the ideal complement to the latest multi-band transceivers. Each HF band has its own radiating element that can be individually tuned, while the main mast is pre-set for operation on 2 m and 70 cm.

An antenna of this nature requires careful setting-up, as the bandwidths are quire narrow, but given patience and the use of an antenna analyser surprisingly good results can be obtained. An ATU will be required when using the antenna on the HF bands, it is also recommended for use on VHF and UHF.
